What is PMSSS?

  • The Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme is managed by AICTE to empower students of J&K and Ladakh.
  • Provides full financial support to pursue undergraduate studies in colleges outside the home UTs.
  • Covers academic tuition fees entirely along with a fixed living maintenance allowance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Domicile: Valid domicile certificate of J&K or Ladakh.
  • Education: Passed 12th standard (HSC) from JKBOSE or CBSE schools located within J&K/Ladakh.
  • Income: Total family income must be strictly less than ₹8.00 Lakhs/annum.

Process Guide

How to Apply Step-by-Step

Step 1

Online Registration

Visit the official website. Create an account, fill in personal details, and upload scanned copies of documents.

Step 2

Document Verification at FC

Take a printout of the submitted form and visit the nearest AICTE Facilitation Centre (FC) in J&K/Ladakh with original documents for physical verification.

Step 3

College Choice Filling

Log back into the portal post-verification. Browse available colleges and select preferences. Add maximum choices to increase allotment chances.

Step 4

Merit List & Seat Allotment

AICTE releases a merit list. Check the seat allotment result. Choose to either "Freeze" (accept the seat) or "Float" (wait for the next round).

Step 5

College Reporting

Download the Allotment Letter. Travel to the allotted college before the deadline with original documents to confirm admission.
